The Shard is finally opening tonight after being built for a long time. Suck My Trend has regular access to the London Bridge area so we have watched the structure slowly raise in height, and then go up in height some more. It truly is rather tall and what better way to open it than to have a massive laser show tonight.

EventMagazine posted a CGI of what the Laser show tonight might actually look like. That is the picture attached to this article. It looks rather realistic, although the colours may vary of course.
There will be a combination of 12 lasers and 30 searchlights which will light up the capital at around 10:15PM tonight.
If you are curious about what music will be attached to the event, then we have it for you. Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and the Finale from Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite performed live by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. However, we are unsure of where the music will be played from, considering the event will light up a large area of the city.
The lasers are designed to point out to other London Landmarks, introducing the Shard as the latest and greatest Landmark for the City. The landmarks that will receive the laserlight include Tower Bridge, The Gherkin and the London Eye.
Tomorrow morning you will also be able to purchase tickets to view the interior of the Shard. This is designed to be the same as the classic Empire State Building visit when you go to New York.
It officially opens in February 2013.
UPDATE: Here is the Laser Show!
Underwhelming, to say the least.
