DNSChanger is the malware that everyone is suddenly worrying about due to the high amount of media coverage. Thousands will be affected. In fact, there are hundreds of millions of us on the internet who won’t be affected, so it’s highly unlikely.
However, we understand that people are probably worrying so we have linked you to a number of tools that will allow you to instantly check if you have the malware or not.
If you live in the US or UK, Click Here.
A green screen means you are all good, and a red background means you are screwed. Locate a fix online.
If you live in Canada, it’s apparently better to use this tool.
Finally, we have an alternative FBI Checker here. (Yes, the FBI)
The good thing about that website is that they have information about a Fix on there as well, so if you are infected, you do not have to fear. It can be treated, like some medical conditions.
ISP’s are bracing themselves for problems following Monday’s outbreak, and will be able to offer support, however we feel that this malware has been a little overrated due to the media coverage, and we won’t see much more about it after Monday. If we are wrong, we owe you a cookie.
