    Most of us have wanted to visit a beautiful tropical island – get away from the the fast-paced working-life of the average citizen. However, crowded schedules, high travel cost, and other obligations make it just near impossible to visit that paradise of our dreams. But perhaps there is a way we could finally visit our dream island… Perhaps an all-expense paid trip to make it that much sweeter.

The GPS navigation company, TomTom wants to make that a reality for you, provided you do a little work in return. They are calling it the “Map Paradise” project and the premise is this: the company needs help to create maps for five uncharted tropical islands. Instead of having an internal employee handle the job, they decided to turn the project into a promotion that would please many more people. The vacationers would be required to simply drive around the island in a provided 4×4 SUV in exchange for the entire trip. In addition, the whole family is welcome to attend and you’ll receive $15,000 in appreciation for your hard work for the company.

As mentioned, the giveaway requires the mapping of five different tropical islands. Fiji and St. Lucia have already been claimed – which leaves Cape Verde, the Seychelles, or Mauritius. Mauritius will be the next up in the in the giveaway, but unfortunately is ONLY available to those who live in New York or Florida, as they are closest to the destination (Madagascar) The deadline for this drawing in July 12th, 2012. On the bright side, not all participants need to be within the US to be eligible. TomTom is saying that select regions around the world can also take part in this great opportunity.

So how might you apply? Each family interested much submit a 200-word essay describing why they are a perfect fit for the job. Those who are chosen will be given the opportunity of a lifetime. Those who aren’t may fall among 45 runners-up who will receive a free TomTom Via 130 GPS device.
