RIM's Corporate Customers Preparing to Jump Ship - Suck My Trend

RIM’s Corporate Customers Preparing to Jump Ship

It is definitely no secret that RIM is in an extremely tight place financially. The company is reporting huge losses, and losing it’s customer base rapidly. Even it’s Corporate client base is coming up with a Plan-B in case Research in Motion totally sinks.

The Founder of Lopez Research expresses his company’s concern for RIM: “In the past three months there has been a lot of concern that the BlackBerry platform won’t be around in the future.” RIM has seen a dip in it’s stock of more than 70 percent in the past year and fell 19 percent on June 29th after announcing more quarterly losses and even more delays in the release of the BlackBerry 10 OS.

The only thing supporting RIM currently are the large corporate companies that still rely on BlackBerrys as primary company communication devices. However, being in this unstable situation has lead such corporations to look into other mobile solutions.

RIM hasn’t officially given up quite yet, but continuing to take such hard losses each quarter will only result in closure for the company. With additional talks of selling pieces of RIM out to other companies, it may be someone else’s job to close their doors for them.
