O2 Service down in UK

O2 is suffering from technical issues which are affecting a large proportion of UK customers, it has been confirmed.

The company has been experiencing technical issues since lunchtime today UK time, and has still not managed to rectify the problem.

O2 has confirmed that the issue is not related to Geography and that some people are affected where others are not. They have not managed to pin point the cause of the issue, but are working hard to solve the problems.

This is stopping O2 users from being able to make calls or text people from their mobile and tablet devices that are connected to the phone networks.

This is also not an issue linked to 3G, it affects customers who are on GPRS signals and have not connected to the internet, showing an internal problem linked directly with O2′s systems.

Many users have taken to Twitter as usual to vent their fury with many threatening to leave the company and switch tariffs. Shame most of them are in contracts and can’t leave until their 18 or 24 months is up.

Others have been confused with the complaints considering their service is fine, showing that not all people are affected by this outage.

O2 is working hard on the issue and we will update you as soon as any more news becomes available via O2′s twitter feed.

There’s a problem affecting some customers’ mobile service. Engineers are working to restore full service asap. http://j.mp/O2Coverage
