Who is the new CEO of Yahoo?


A new CEO has been named on Yahoo once again. Marissa Mayer is the new CEO and President of the company. It is being called the Silicon Valley Surprise.

Marissa Mayer has been working for Google since it’s early days, so switching over to the company that Google surpassed many years ago has shocked many people. We don’t even know if this will Lower or raise Google’s shares yet, but they will definitely make some kind of move today.

Yahoo has had four different CEO’s over the past five years, and Marissa Mayer is the new person to try and turn the company around. She has worked for Google for such a long time, but according to rumours, it has been hard to find a job under Larry Page’s head staff team and she has decided the best move is to join something else she is good at. Perhaps Yahoo can see a slight turnaround, but getting back on the bandwagon and competing against Google is going to be an extremely difficult task, regardless of how much knowledge Marissa has of the company. Let’s hope she doesn’t reveal too many secrets.

She has a Masters Degree in Computer Science, and with so much time serving Google, she has a lot of knowledge in her head on how search engines are supposed to work. She will be able to use this skill to put Yahoo in a much better position than it is currently in. We expect that she will utilise social media in a better way than Yahoo is currently doing. We look forward to seeing the changes and seeing what Yahoo will look and function like within a few months of having Marissa on board.

Marissa Mayer has a huge job ahead of her, and we wish her luck in doing so.
