Garmin are currently offering UK buyers a cashback offer on the Edge 200 GPS device. The offer only applies to the Edge 200 at this time, and sadly not the big brother, Edge 500 which has more accurate readings. Still, the Garmin Edge 200 GPS is brilliant, and is capable of telling you exactly where you have been on your cycle route, as well as the ability to upload your routes to Garmin Connect, their social site, and share the route with fellow sportsmen and sportswomen.

The only part where the Edge 500 is superior is with the quicker readings. The Edge 200 updates its location every few seconds, meaning that a line is connected on the map between those two points. This means if you are cycling down a windy track in wooland on a mountain bike (MTB), you are likely to suffer from some inaccuracy in the reading. The Garmin Edge 500 updates every single second, allowing for much more accurate readings which are clearly visible in the final product.

This means that the Edge 200 is aimed towards people who simply take their bike out for rides down normal roads, where the timing does not matter as much, allowing the reading to be as accurate as it needs to be.

The Cashback offer is for £30, meaning you simply buy the Edge 200 from any retailer, and then Garmin asks you to take a picture of whatever you used as your old mile tracker (I used my phone, RunKeeper App), send that to them, and they will credit you back with £30 to say thanks for upgrading to a Garmin Device.

This deal is only valid until the end of August, so this is the best time to make the purchase of an Edge 200 if you are thinking about doing so.
