A fake Twitter account named @OfficialSkyNews is attracting over 30,000 followers due its username and the fact many companies have Official in their Twitter Handles. However, in the past hour it has been used for bad advertising purposes by stating that Margaret Thatcher had passed away, and then removing the tweet stating that the previous tweet was not true, and then placed a link to a website so that people would tune into their live show.

Should accounts like this be allowed? How come Twitter does not remove them?

The account has posted a few more tweets calling the world stupid for falling for the hoax, and then another tweet stating they were the ones behind the hoax that has hit viral on the internet in the past hour, and they supply a London 0208 number for you to ring, which I would not recommend unless you are media based, as you don’t know what the number is linked to, or how it may charge you without you being able to do anything about it.
