Online Game retailer Zavvi has leaked the release date of Grand Theft Auto V, the biggest gaming title to hit us either this year or next, according to Eurogamer’s Portugal Site.
Sadly the likelihood of this rumour being true is rather unlikely. Zavvi would not have access to the release date yet unless they had a special exclusive deal with Rockstar, and as a dying brand who used to have hundreds of UK stores and now is only available on eBay and their website.
Also, this has happened on Amazon many times before. It is purely an estimate for when the game is going to be released related to the factors of how the website works, and to allow people to pre-order. Some have branded it a way that Zavvi, as a dying brand, is trying anything to get more people to view their website and potentially purchase the game through their website or eBay store, but this is more unlikely than the rumoured release date.
So, you still want to know the date, even though it’s probably not true? Well, if you insist. According to the Guru’s at Zavvi, the game will be released 23rd November 2012, even though many expect it will not be ready for release until at least Summer next year as it is such a big game.
What has Zavvi said? They said it was the date “confirmed to them by their supplier”, which would be whoever send the Rockstar games to them. It is clearly a middle-man style company, and not Rockstar directly, as they are not a supplier, they are a developer. This quote is a bit sensationalist.
It is probably not true. Another internet rumour, and one that will cause us a little mini heart attack every time we see this article and news story bounce up all around the web on various websites. This has already become a massive hot search among the gamers, so I am glad I was here to put you at peace again. You have a long wait for GTA V, but don’t worry, if it’s anything like it looks like it will be, even a decade would be worth the wait.
