Phyllis Diller has passed away a few days ago on August 20th 2012. She was 95 years old and known worldwide for her comedy, such as the sitcom Titus. This could be why her death has become a trending search worldwide and searches for Phyllis Diller are up over 5000% than usual. Her name actually hit the top spot worldwide yesterday, but could this be the younger generation who were not aware of who the lady was, or fans of her old days?

Personally, I did not know who she was. I think at the age of 21, I may be too young to remember the sitcoms and other comedy classics that she starred in. She also made her comedy club debut at the age of 37 after switching from a housewife to a life of comedy.

What I do know from reports however is that she died peacefully in her sleep, which is the best way to go, and some news sites say she died with “a smile on her face“.

95 is also a pretty good age. A lot of other deaths recently of celebrities have been of a lower age, so she had a big full life.
