Big news this week that trended all over the internet was the search for a Lion by a large group of Police in Essex. This became the most searched for term on Google this week in Google Images as people flocked to the internet to find images of this lion to see if it was in fact real.
Of course, it was fake, and the search has since been called off. However, today we received news about another predator that could have caused some serious issues. A killer snake ended up in Tilbury dock, Essex after travelling a 5000 mile trip from India.
Thankfully the person who stumbled across the snake when they opened the shipping container knew what to do. Slam it shut and call the cops. The South Essex Wildlife Hospital now has control of the predator and they are deciding what to do with it. They hope it will find a home, but the Viper does not respond well to being in captivity, therefore they may have to put it down.
So that’s two potential predators in Essex, one of which has been found. It would seem this hot weather is changing the climate and creatures we would usually have to travel to the deadliest forests in the world to find, can now be found at the local dockyard.
The person who slammed shut the door of the container said that he had some specialist equipment available, so he was able to trap the snake, saying that the “trick” was to catch it before it realises what’s happening. If you strike too late, you’re dead.
The Viper is one of the four deadliest snakes in India.
