McDonalds is known as the place to go for fast food all over the world. It was even the Official Restaurant of the London 2012 Olympics, and at Olympic Park in London there are four restaurants, all of which with massive queues for big macs, and hundreds of outdoor seats in the surrounding areas to eat your meal at.
However, McDonalds is all for the healthy approach, and they are now opening a meat free version of their restaurant which will be in India. It is their first ever, and something very new for the company to be doing.
The reason for this is that due to religion in the area where the restaurant will be opening, they cannot consume meat. McDonalds is offering a smart approach to get in and still grab some consumers, while offering vegetarian alternatives.
BBC Stated the following:
According to the AFP news agency, McDonald’s will open the outlet in the middle of next year, near the Golden Temple in the Sikh holy city of Amritsar in northern India.
Currently McDonalds has 271 restaurants in India. It might seem like a lot but they have 33,000 all over the world. The company plans to open another 1,3000 stores all around the world this year, including the Vegetarian one. Perhaps other countries will appreciate the restaurant too as diet is becoming an important factor as well as the consumption of less salt and sugars.
McDonalds is the second biggest food outlet chain after Subway.
