It seems Konami need to be updated on how Copyright works. With all these people being banned from YouTube for having music in their videos that is owned by big media companies, you’d expect gaming companies to be aware of the usual protocol. Perhaps not.
The brand new Metal Gear Solid trailer for their new gaming coming out soon, called Ground Zeroes was revealed last week at the Penny Arcade Expo. Many people integrated that trailer into their own websites so that people could watch it. Sadly Konami has said that all these websites now have to remove this trailer due to a licensing issue with the music that was used in the trailer.
Game Informer said:
At this time it’s unclear what song is causing the problem. One possibility is the song “Here’s To You” by Ennio Morricone and Joan Baez, though that remains unconfirmed.
It is not yet know whether or not Konami will release a new trailer, or the same trailer again with different music. Either way, it may be a while before we see another trailer for the game we have all been looking forward to.
Multiple News outlets have contacted Konami for comment, and we will keep you updated when they release a statement.
