The Mayor Thames Festival is a celebration which is is held at the end of every Summer along the South Bank, London. It is this weekend and we have the highlights of what’s in store over the next two days.
Throughout the whole festival there will be stalls and entertainment along the Thames. With an authentic Korean art and food stall in front of Tate Modern. Entertainment from dancers and performers will be held in the National Theatre which is open to the general public. There is also a performance by XX Scharnhorst on HMS Belfast from 8pm both nights.
Unique events which will only be held today include Columbian Acrobatics and artist Richard Wilson makes a musical installation across London Bridge and Tower Bridge.
Tomorrow, Sunday, showcases a barge race on the Thames from Tower Bridge to Westminster Bridge. Followed by the festival carnival which has over 1500 performances. There is also a fireworks display at 10.30pm to celebrate the end of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and the end of a marvellous Summer.
