Big News (for some strange reason) this week is that Cristiano Ronaldo the Footballer is unhappy at Real Madrid. Searches for his name on the internet have gone up by over 50% as people wish to know why on earth he could be so unhappy earning millions every month.
Is it a way to grab some more attention? Or a way to simply annoy the nation and just want to see the guy kick the ball into the goal. This is the guy who was bought for a record amount of money in the first place to be playing for Real Madrid. Who is going to want to pay even more to bring him back to the UK and make him happy? Oh of course, Man City. According to The Mirror today, it would seem that £95m could be spent on the player simply to bring him back. £100m just to put a smile back on his face. Well that’s one way to pay the bills.
I think that money could be used to cure World Hunger or the Global Recession, but of course spending on a football player is definitely the best move for the economy to cause one person to smile and every football supporter in the world to care for a week, and then forget it ever happened.
Perhaps I don’t understand football enough, but I do understand that £100m is a lot of money. I know football is big business and Alan Sugar even ran Tottenham for quite some time, but at the same time, in business £100m is still a lot of money.
