This is rare. Suck My Trend is based in the UK, and we don’t hear much about our Police Officers being killed. So much so, that our police officers don’t carry weapons by default, which could potentially have saved the lives of the two female officers who were killed today trying to arrest Dale Cregan. He is a wanted murder suspect.

Witnesses said that they heard up to 13 gunshots during the arrest, and then an explosion. This may have come from a grenade, as this man was wanted for the murder on 10th August which involved a grenade. It killed David Short. His son Mark Short was previously killed by gunshot in a pub shooting.

A bomb disposal team still remains at the scene, which could indicate that grenades are still nearby.

This is a rare occasion, as we have stated, which has prompted a statement from the Home Secretary; Theresa May:

“This is a deeply shocking incident and a terrible reminder of the risks that police officers face every day to keep our communities safe.”

We have seen a lot of armed officers lately considering the heightened security surrounding the London 2012 Olympics, but now that has passed, it would appear less armed officers are around less popular areas. London remains secured, as well as all airports and major train stations such as St Pancras.
