We previously reported that the Irish Daily Star published topless photos of Kate Middleton. This has caused a lot of friction, but one thing we noticed when we first reported the story was that the website was unnacessible. It was showing an error when we attempted to gain access to the website, however the site is now back up. One thing we have noticed now is that there is no sign of the Kate Middleton pictures.
We came across one story about the Royal Family members being ‘saddened’ over the images, however there is no sign of the original posting, so it may have been a paper based story only. Quite frankly the site seems rather empty in terms of tabloid content and could be missing a lot of news from the paper. Perhaps this is something that has not yet been expanded into properly in the Republic of Ireland. They have even used a copyright image on the story that they have got on the website, which we have displayed below. See if you can spot it. Not sure if a national paper is allowed to be doing that, and there is no sign of a source back.
Now that the website is back up and running, we will have to sit back and stand by for any further updates on the site regarding Kate Middleton and the images that they published. According to the recent threats of closure of the paper, and their funding being cut, we could see a more permanent closure than the temporary error that was displayed over the past few days, which may have been caused by too many people trying to access the website after they revealed they had leaked pictures of The Duchess of Cambridge.
