Taken 2 Wasn’t So Bad

Taken 2 has been slaughtered through the means of reviews lately since it’s release. Suck My Trend noticed this was a Trending Movie, albeit maybe for the wrong reasons. But we weren’t going to sit by and watch the movie fail without watching it ourselves and understanding why.

In our opinion, it wasn’t that bad at all really. The problem is it can’t compete with the first film. It will always be a classic and a very highly rated film. In all honesty a Sequel was pointless and just a way of getting more money in. It was weird enough seeing Liam Neeson in Unknown where he plays the same style of character.

The average viewer may agree with some of the things we, especially I, did not like about Taken 2. Firstly was the camera angles. In the fight scenes and the car chase scenes I didn’t know what the hell was going on half the time. On one corner I counted 14 different camera angles. All he did was turn right, it was just not needed. It looked good, but it was hard to focus and too much was happening on the screen.

Also, the ending is stupidly predictable, but we are not a place for spoilers.

The film is good for going to see with your mates. There is one part with a driving instructor near the end that had the entire cinema in hysterics, and you will have to see the film to understand why. If you have seen it, then the driving instructor should have made you laugh if you have any sense of humour, but we may be a little cruel in saying so.

Liam Neeson is a very good actor, and it was obvious in this film he was directed too much. He was made to say “we’re going to be Taken”, and it was just bloody annoying as it was obviously coming and it’s just an exact replica of the first film. Hostel was about the same in terms of replica films in their sequels. Although the twist at the start of Hostel 3 was rather impressive.

Go and see Taken 2. It’s totally worth the watch regardless of the terrible reviews it’s getting. Just don’t go in expecting the best film you’ve ever seen, as you may then be disappointed.
