Kongregate like a true gamer - Suck My Trend

Kongregate like a true gamer

I always used to love playing those great little flash games on sites like Miniclip or AddictingGames, but after a while they got boring. It wasn’t just because of the games being repetitive and the same style or graphics, but because they were ones you simply played, had a good time on and that was it.

Some other sites then came out with high score systems, where the winners of each game who ranked first each month could win a small prize, and the person with the most first place “trophies” could win the big grand prize at the  end of the year. We did this on a site called vArcade.net, but sadly that is no more, as this was back in 2o08.

Now there is a site called Kongregate where you can join a community of gamers, and gain trophies, points, awards and badges to add to your profiles and win cash prizes for gaining points and score on the website. Also, everything you do, such as reaching goals, or passing levels in the games allows you to earn rewards, and gain points to your overall rank on the site.

Also, a lot of the games on this site are designed for Kongregate, making the achievements that are unlockable work well, and not have any issues, such as the previous issues with high scores not registering on other arcade sites.

I really enjoy this website and sometimes in my spare time if I ever have any, I find myself over there playing a few games. I am the fan of the typing games, as I see myself as quite a fast typer. I love to keep playing them and trying to beat my previous speed, the same as I used to do with the Applications on facebook back when everyone used to enjoy those. (Who remembers Typing Racer?)

The colour scheme on this site is also very nice, which is not something I note much, but I find this important as the scheme allows the games to appear nicely whilst you are playing them embedded into the webpages.

Kongregate is part of the GameStop network, according to their footer.
