Yahoo Acquires Stamped – Starts Going Mobile

We have been interested to see the changes that Marissa Mayer is making to the company Yahoo that she is now in charge of. Her recent move saw another Google Ex-employee being brought over to join Yahoo with a big pay packet. Now it would seem the company are aware of the importance of Mobile and how many people are moving to using mobile devices more than their desktops each day for particular tasks. Searching, Email and news are the big ones, and Yahoo offers all of these services. It’s time they really made it work.

This is why they have acquired a small New York Mobile based company called Stamped. The App allows people to record and share recommendations on their favourite things with friends, and this is great to bring more a social element to using Yahoo. Already they have the Facebook login working really well that allows you to see what news articles on Yahoo News that your friends have been reading about and much more. It would seem now that more things on Yahoo will be shared with friends and recommended using the technology that this app has to offer.

It will be interesting to see what use Yahoo makes of this particular company and the technology behind it. We look forward to finding out. Stay updated with us by following us on Twitter.
