The photo sharing and manipulation application has soared in users over the past few weeks. This is due to the recent media coverage around the Facebook $1bn sale, along with more and more people using the application to share images on Facebook.
The application has stayed just as simple, but still seems to be pleasing people all over the world. Instagram will be able to benefit from the members more if they sign up and download the app before Facebook implements their shiny new purchase into the website in a way that works with their photo uploads. I expect that Facebook will add a feature that allows photos to be modified once they have been uploaded to an album using the same manipulative features that are available in the application based version that millions are using on their camera based smart phone devices.
The application is adding over 5 million new registrations on the application every single day. Let’s hope they are keeping up with the servers, because the downloads are going crazy!
Now that the 50 million mark has been reached, we will have to wait and see whether the trend will slowly start to go down, and downloads slow a bit, or if the downloads continue to soar at these amazing rates as more and more people become aware of the software around the world. Personally, I think we will see a 100 million users, right around the point where Facebook hits 1 Billion users.
