At first we thought another Sporting Hoax had hit our inbox, but in fact Bradley Wiggins has spent a night in hospital after being struck by a van whilst cycling near his home.

BBC Sport Reports that Bradley Wiggins was treated for rib and hand injuries. Previous reports had suggested that he had broken both his ribs and his finger, which would have caused issues for his training for upcoming events, and could of potentially affected him on a long term basis. These reports turned out to be untrue, and the story was quickly changed. Some websites still report that broken ribs were the case, but I suspect that BBC have the right story by now.

Dr Freeman (Not the guy from Half Life), was quoted:

“Bradley has been discharged from hospital after suffering minor injuries, including bruises to his right hand and ribs, but is expected to make a full and speedy recovery.”

We hope Bradley recovers fully soon, and can continue with his training.
