All over the world news agencies posted throughout the day as the 21st arrived in their time zone. They all stated that all was good and that the end of the world apocalypse had not yet arrived.

The Mayan Calendar became a massive trending search. In fact the entire Hot Searches page on Google Trends was filled to the brim with searches related to the end of the world. The date, 21st December 2012, 21/12/12, Mayan Calendar Ending and much more. All of which leading to stories which are either humourous about still being here, or very serious as to why we are still here and yet again people were wrong and they are the ones everyone is turning to for answers.
