If you aren’t joining the London streets to see this years firework spectacular then fear not because the BBC are hosting a live coverage of the night. Last year Suck My trend were lucky enough to go and see the fireworks in London and stood and saw Jake Humphey present the show. This year Gabby Logan is going to present this event on BBC 1. It will be aired at 11.40pm until 12.15am GMT. The show will follow previous traditions by showing the first chimes from Big Ben for the year 2013 which will be followed by the marvelous display.
Gabby Logan is known for presenting BBC Sports Final Score and was featured presenting throughout the Olympic period. Hopefully this thought will bring us back to the British spirit we saw this Summer. She previously was a contestant on Strictly Come dancing and has hosted 2012 Superstars.
For those of you who are luckily enough to see the display from the streets, the Mayor of London has prepared special arrangements to make it easier for you to return home after the evenings events. The London Underground, London Public buses and the DLR will be free for all around Central London. This should reduce some congestion as it is expected that tens of thousands of people will be gathered in the same area. Last year saw over 250,000 people from all over the UK flock to the Southbank to see the London Eye where the fireworks were held.
If you thought the fireworks from the Olympic and Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremony’s were good, then you will surely be dazzled as this year is expected to top that. As well as the fireworks, the Shard is going to hold a light show and on New years day there will be the annual New Years Day Parade.
