Windows Phone 7 sure offer whole lots of new things and there are many things to brag about the device but we are pretty much sure Internet Explorer is not one of them. While the browser works smoothly and serves pretty well in terms of surfing, it does show troubles in translating HTML 5. But no worries as Windows Phone 8 will be able to fix this problem.
In a HTML 5 Test Internet Explorer 9 will only be able to score 138 out of 500, pretty poor result, makeing it a bit better than Nintendo 3DS’s stock browser and falls behind stock browser of Android 2.3. But with IE 10 the results were really astonishing. It is getting better and better since its last result few months back and recently it has nailed a surprising 300 on the test which makes even better than stock browser of Android 4.0 and slightly inferior to Safari on iOS 5.1.
Although 300 is a nice score still it is nowhere near topping the charts. Other HTML 5 champs had much better results and higher scores with Tizen browser topping the test charts with 400 score followed by BlackBerry 10 with 381 on the test chart which makes BlackBerry 10 even better than Opera Mobile 12 and Chrome Beta. Chrome Beta was considered to be a yardstick when it first came out.
But still 300 is not a bad score and we anticipate to see more improved browsers for Windows Phone in future.
