Perez Hilton, one of the world’s most famous celebrity gossip bloggers, announced yesterday on his own website  the birth of his first child.

On  his website there is a photo of Perez holding his son, with a short and sweet message directly to his readers  announcing the arrival of his son and thanking his fans and followers for their continued support.

“I am ready to announce that earlier this month I was blessed with the birth of my first child, a beautiful and healthy baby boy – with lots of hair on his tiny head!” he has written.

Details such as the baby’s name and birthday are not included in the message from Perez, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr, but the joy he is feeling is clear to see and read.

In the message to his fans he goes on to say “My family is overjoyed at this newest and most cherished addition,” and “I am so humbled to welcome this little man into my life. And I am honored and ready for the challenge of guiding him through his.”

Of course as it is the age of Twitter, celebrities such as Katie Price, Paris Hilton and Heidi Montag have tweeted their congratulations to him and Perez has replied to this by tweeting:

“I can’t stop crying! Every time someone tweets me “Congrats Dad” or “Daddy” the tears just start streaming! #PoppaPerez”.

In a separate generous note once again thanking people for their baby well-wishes, Perez has asked people to consider donating money to one of either two charities at Crowd Rise instead of giving gifts for the baby.
