iOS 6 could be what Apple needs to beat Android


As you may or may not know, Android has been eating away at the sales lately, and there are a lot more Android devices selling all around the world, than there are Apple devices. This is not good news for Apple, so they know that they need to make their upcoming iOS 6 the best operating system the world has ever seen, so that they have a chance of getting that market share back.

This pretty graph shows Australia only, but reflects the whole world really, as similar trends are set!

So, Android is selling very well indeed, and with their new Android Ice Cream sandwich update, and the upcoming Jelly Bean Android 5.0 update, we could see more sales flying their way.

So, iOS 6 clearly needs to be great. We see some new maps coming, although Google already featured their own awesome 3D technology ones, and as they are Google, the guys who are behind Android, this means we will be seeing their new map technology on Android phones, putting them in a war against each other for this new technology already, and it is ages before we will even see it released.

So, is there anything unique about the new iOS 6 update that will have people coming over and switching off their Android devices for a piece of the high tech trending action. Probably not. From what we have seen at WWDC, there are some really cool things coming, but at the same time, this really awesome stuff is already available on the Android Devices.

Of course, this is just opinion. I don’t work for either Google or Apple, so it can be hard for me to say, but as a consumer and reviewer, I can see the potential of both operating systems, and it is also apparent to me that these operating systems are closely matched and will be in the same competition with eachother as they are now. That might sound just dandy, but right now more Android devices are selling than iOS devices, in terms of Smart Phones any way. So, if this same level of competition continues with the release of iOS 6, we could see the same height of Android based sales as we are currently seeing.
