Verizon has announced that the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZT Maxx will be receiving their Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 updates within the next couple of weeks.
Current owners of these devices are reportedly getting a friendly reminder-message of the upcoming software update. Motorola’s update schedule claims that the update will rollout at the end of Q2 2012 and this appears to be rolling out as planned.
Additionally, users of Verizon’s IM mobile app are being urged to switch to a new IM service, as theirs will no longer be supported with Ice Cream Sandwich.
As these devices are made by the same company (Motorola) it may be likely to also see a Verizon Motorola Xoom software update in the near future as well. Just speculation, of course.
