Olympic and Paralympic Celebratory Parade

After another almost 2 weeks of sporting greatness from the Olympic park and other venues hosting the games events, we have seen the final Paralympic closing ceremony. Today, British Olympian and Paralympian athletes will parade through the streets of London to celebrate their victories over the past weeks. This is going to be an amazing victory parade, with 21 open top floats carrying all the athletes as hundreds of thousands [...]

Diana Nyad Swimming Attempt

An OAP from the United States has abandoned her attempt to swim from Cuba to the US. Diana Nyad was attempting this awesome feat without the use of a shark cage, in water which is often visited by sharks. This morning, it was reported on her blog http://www.diananyad.com/blog that there was a heavy squall, which means that the wind speed and direction was not on her side. She has also been [...]

Europe Rocks for Red Bull Pro Nationals

This weekend gone saw the first trip overseas from the UK for the Red Bull Pro Nationals Championship. Mill MX track in Holland was the venue for a special weekend of racing in between the regular British based rounds of the season. This event did not count towards the RBPN Championship, but was a tester for the 2013 Championship. Events 22, who promote the events with Red Bull,  are hoping to [...]

Meteor Shower

This weekend is a perfect opportunity to go out and spend an evening under the stars. The Northern hemisphere is due to get a great display of shooting stars as we travel through Comet Swift-Tuttle’s trailing debris. This happens yearly, but this year is going to be good for viewing. Most of the UK should have clear skies for Saturday night (11th August) into Sunday morning (12th August), which is [...]

According to the Police Chief for the local area, the incident appears to be a localized terrorist incident, as the shootings were against a religious Sikh community. This shooting is the second on [...]

Desert Island Hacking

I like this idea of a group of Hackers convening onto a deserted island somewhere, to open up their minds and see what they can come up with. This is a news story covered on the BBC website today, currently trending on the net and one which will surely grow in interest as the idea goes forwards. The guy behind the idea is Walter Heck. He plans to get 12 participants [...]

What’s not going on at the Olympics

Who loves their Red bull? For me, a large can of Monster hits the spot but Red Bull no doubt sponsors some of the best extreme sporting people around the globe. If you are into your Motocross, it’s only 8 days to go till the next round of the Red Bull Pro Nationals here in the UK. Last time it was held at Canada Heights mx track in Kent a [...]
